Joseph de Ortega Moro letter, 1772.

Letter written in 1772 by Joseph de Ortega Moro is addressed to a Mother Superior of a convent in Puebla, Mexico. He criticizes the practices of the nuns in the convents of Mexico and the local clergy who do not favor the reforms promoted by the bishop. Fabian y Fuero had attempted to force the nuns of Puebla to abandon their comfortable houses within the convent and adopt a common life eating in the refectory instead. This copy was made after Moro's death.
